It’s race day!

We start our morning in a familiar environment: Vondelgym Rotterdam. It’s been our home for a long time already. This gym has been the starting point for all our training sessions. Today, it is the starting point for the race we’ve prepared for over these past months. This morning it is buzzing in the gym. Many runners are gathering here. It’s a wonderful mix of nervous faces, excitement, fueling talk and last-minute bathroom visits.

Rick and Eline, our founders and coaches, are not running today. They are here to support the runners with their last race preps: warm-ups, pep talks, you know it. Eline is taking pictures of all the runners before she hurries to the cheer zone. She and Iskandar were already there this morning at 06:00 to claim the spot and decorate with spray paint crayons.

As the race lanes get busier, so does the cheer zone. Friends and friends of friends are joining to cheer on the runners. It’s amazing to see how much energy this marathon creates.

The marathon is always a challenge. 42K is no joke. We’re so proud of all our runners for pushing through.
